A cool thing about living in London is accidentally stumbling upon interesting buildings, like the Guildhall.
1
At the Royal Festival Hall watching the London Philharmonic Orchestra play video game music for Video Game Heroes. A really great evening, I loved hearing music from titles as varied as Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Uncharted and...Angry Birds!
2
Moving Ruby out of her place we had to leave Marty the tomato plant behind. So long Marty, you will be missed!
3
Daft dog :)
4
The roof of Liverpool Street Station, a great example of the kind of ironwork that can be seen in several other stations around London.
5
A very wet day today; Mum and Dad's garden started to look a bit like a rainforest!
6
Finding myself with a couple of hours spare in South Kensington, waiting to hand in my project report, I headed over to the Natural History Museum. I've been there more times than I can remember over the years so I decided to try and see things that I might have missed before. I love the colours and patterns in this petrified wood.

I really need to get more exercise, so today I rummaged around in my parents' garage until I found my bike. I used it to cycle from London to Brighton about four years ago and since then it's been in storage. Taking it for a test-ride today it seems okay, so I will be trying to go a good distance each day (with the help of Google's My Tracks for my Android).
8
This stitched image of a man and woman in traditional Czech dress has been in my room for years. I quite like it.
9
The burned-out pier at Brighton, on a weekend visit to Ruby's Mum's house. So lovely to walk around by the sea, and explore the town's little shops.
10
Along the mud-flats of the river at Shoreham there are loads of old hulks that have been converted into houses. Some, like this one, are a bit more eye-catching than others!
11
I bought this cool jumper whilst shopping in Brighton at the weekend.
12
Whilst in Staines seeing The Troll Hunter (which is really awesome by the way) I found this really...odd statue. I'm not really sure what's going on here, it looks like they're dancing with a giant candle!<br>
Edit: I almost missed mentioning that this picture marks the end of my second full year on Shuttercal!
13
My cycle route took me past my old road today, so I made a brief detour to have a look at the first house I lived in. It's been built on and changed a couple of times since we moved out in December 1989, but some features, like the big wooden front door, are still very familiar after all this time.
14
Having been casting around for a game to play over the past week or so, miles away from where my Xbox and PS3 are safely locked up, I discovered an old slim PS2 down the back of a TV set, and Okami to play on it. I'm just starting out but already I love the way the game looks.
15
Tomorrow Ruby and I head off for a week in Rome. I've wanted to go for a long time and really looking forward to it. Bags are all packed and ready to go!
16
A busy day traveling to Rome meant not a lot of time for taking good pictures. I thought these Imperial eagles on the tops of lamp posts pretty cool.
17
On our first full day in Rome we just walked around to get the feel of the place, and ended up seeing loads of interesting stuff anyway!
18
Day two: visiting the Vatican. After queuing for a surprisingly short time Ruby and I climbed all 551 steps up to the cupola at the top of the dome, giving this great view of St. Peter's Square below.
19
On the third day we explored Rome a bit more thoroughly, including the spectacular Trevi Fountain.
20
The Arch of Titus, one of the many splendid monuments that we saw during our tour of the Forums.
21
Here's me at the Rome Botanical Gardens. It was very nice spending the afternoon wandering amongst the many different plants, although I did get badly bitten by mosquitos in the bamboo forest.
22
Our dessert for our last meal in Rome was a fantastic mandarin sorbet, with loads of whipped cream and strawberry culis :)
23
Flying home...
24
Attending the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court, in part to make up for missing PAX this year. Saw lots of interesting stuff, including a dev session talking about Guild Wars 2.
25
The prize item out of the swag from Eurogamer yesterday: a real Ocarina of Time from the Nintendo booth. I've managed to work out how to play a couple of songs, but finding it hard to make a pleasing noise :D
26
New Xbox and Gears of War 3! I'm resisting the urge to blast through the campaign straight away since I really want to finish Okami before moving back to London.
27
Still very sunny considering it'll soon be October!
28
More Autumn colours today. I have to admit, using my big camera for the first time in about a year I'm shocked at how bright and colourful the pictures are turning out. Need to take it with me back to London and use it sometimes.

Maddie, poised to fetch another stick from the pond.
