I get excited about little things and photograph as many of the interesting things around me as I can. I enjoy photography, blogging, going out to lunch, 80s music, teasing my kitty cat and annoying my husband to name just a few. I believe in taking at least one road trip a year. I really need a full time housekeeper and my husband says that I make five really great dinners but he can only think of four.

My friends who are a part of the Liver Transplant Support Group. These folks were back for Jay's first yearly evaluation. He looks great! It's amazing what a new liver and a year can do for a person. His Mom, Amla, looks a lot more relaxed and happy, too!

I have a craft project that I'm going to do this week that involves some candy canes. I hated to just keep them in the box, so I took them all out and started putting them in some jelly jars that I have in my glass bin. I hauled them all over the kitchen taking their picture, but the one I like best is the one where I put them in an old fruit crate with just a sliver of light coming through.

At the flea market in St. Augustine, MI I noticed this bulk food seller. What I loved best was that all of the bags were tied up with these colorful pony tail holders. (Photo # 5540523)

I was so excited when I realized that you could still see the tracks on the next little hill. (Photo #5550611)

I unwrapped a bag of Hershey Kisses for a baking project. I've always wanted to do something with the little Kisses message but never knew what to do with them? I had a jelly jar hanging around so I put them in there. My friend, JB, has mentioned that I tend to put a lot of my collections in jars, so I'm finding myself actively searching out things to put in jars just to make her laugh when she comes to visit in Feb. Anyway, here's a jar full of kisses.

I wanted to use the wrappers from all of the Hershey Kisses that I unwrapped for yesterday's baking project, but it was difficult figuring out how to feature them. I put them into jars and they looked cool, but not when I photographed them. I realized that they needed to be background. So I searched through the house and came up with a little wintery scene. My folded paper trees with my new salt glazed snowman from Eldreth Pottery , and the scattered wrappers made a lovely scene. I really loved that the glitter on the two big trees gave some sparkle in the photo!

One of my favorite things about this time of year is getting some really great Christmas light bokeh.

We had to put our dear Mocha to sleep tonight. She has been sick for quite some time, but today she declined rather fast and we rushed her to the vets office. This was just a camera phone shot of Mocha, who had just burrowed under a piece of my clothing that I had brought along to comfort her. A few minutes later we were taken to a special room with a couch and soft lighting, she was placed on my lap I was able to hold her as she passed. I'm so grateful I was there, but I'm just so sad I can hardly stand it. I can't believe this is going to be my last photo of my sweetheart.

These are the kitty bowls that Maggie and Mocha used almost their entire lives. I think I found them just a few months after I brought the kittens home. Almost all dishes in my house are pottery and the kitty ones weren't any different. I took this with my retro camera app on my phone, so the color isn't true - they are much more blue.

Leaving Port Canaveral on the Norwegian Sun for a week long cruise. I am so looking forward to this trip. (Photo #5600719)

The WIndjammer Bar on the cruise ship, listening to Larry play the piano and sing songs we all know. I ordered a water and when the waiter set it down, the little LED flicker candle on the table lit it up with this amazing color! (Photo #5600822)

A flower arrangement hanging from the center stained glass doorway of the Corpus Christi Church on the island of Cozumel. I saw the bell towers from the ship and asked a taxi driver to take me there. It was well worth the trip. (Photo #5600875)

Leaving Grand Cayman Island at sunset. We had to take a tender from the island to the ship and as I waited the sun and clouds were performing for me. (Photo # 5600969)

The Island of Jamaica, mon. Just a few feet from the industrial dock where our ship was tethered were a few of these giant stained green containers. Water collection? Sanitation? I have no idea what they are for. The funny part about this story is that I originally took the picture because I thought it was cool that someone painted a palm tree on the side of it. It wasn't until we walked back a few hours later that I realized the palm tree was real! Too funny.(Photo #5600994)

One of the decks on the ship. The entire length of this is painted with scenes from cruse ship life. It's quite lovely. (Photo # 5600115)

The Chandelier leading to the Stardust Lounge on the cruise ship. It looked like a giant crystal ice cream cone or an upside down Christmas Tree. Being that I love chandeliers, it was a total given that I was taking a picture of this one!(Photo #5600155)

As dawn approached, the Norwegian Sun docked at Port Canaveral. I was awake and standing out on the balcony enjoying the predawn moments. I like all of the different colored lights that glowing in this particular area.(Photo #5600182)

I finally walked into an import store that I'd been seeing in town for over 5 years now. I now feel the need to redecorate my home. There were so many very cool things there! I expected it to be another Pier One, but it wasn't, not at all. (Photo # 5610234)

Miniature donuts. Well, they are actually Cheerios with chocolate and sprinkles, the white ones are rolled in powdered sugar and the nutty looking ones were supposed to be rolled in cinnamon but I couldn't find any in my cupboard, so I used freshly grated nutmeg instead. What a hoot - this was a lot of fun to do. Oh and the plate is teeny tiny as you can imagine and I found it at a flea market a few weeks ago - I paid a dime for it.(Photo #5610288)

Pier One had some really nice displays of their fancy, large ornaments when I went in to their store today. These balls were in a beautiful metallic and it took nearly all that I had not to buy the display. Well, I exaggerate, I wouldn't have been that reckless with my money. I don't even have any place to put such decorations so it was quite easy to just take a picture to capture the moment and move on. (Photo# phone_sepia_folder561)

Tonight's adventure found me in St. Augustine to find Christmas lights to photograph. I found a lot of that, but the way these trees were silhouetted against this orange building, outlined with Christmas lights, drew me right in. I loved the pumpkin color and the black. (Photo #5620342)

Poor Joseph. I always seem to put this Wiseman in his space next to Baby Jesus. I think it's because the Wiseman looks like he's carrying a heart, so I notice him more. Well, this is my photo of the day and Joseph is no where to be found! Too funny.

My Aunt sent me a card a few years ago with this Cayman Island stamp on it. I actually framed the stamp and bring it out each Christmas and add to my decorations. (Photo # 5640009fadedlomo)

I went out looking for Christmas decorations or painted windows at local area businesses. There are hardly any decorations anywhere! I finally went to a local floral shop that has a wonderful window display. This little elfen figure was inside hanging out on one of the decorated Christmas Trees. (photo #5640020)

A few days ago the landscape in my neighborhood changed when a staging area appeared for a new construction zone. Dozens of signs, dozens of barrels and hundreds of headaches to come, I'm sure. The new year always seems to bring brand new construction projects and I guess my road is next. (Photo #5660069)

This is one of the elements from a flat top stove. I really love the pattern. I'm also very thankful that the appliance repair guy was able to fix the stove with very little effort. I asked if I could keep the element because I knew it would make a good photo!

This was a lot of fun. A friend of mine sent this handmade pop-up card to me in her Christmas envelope, which she made. I knew I wanted to use it as one of my 365 photos, but didn't quite know how. When my friend showed up at dinner tonight with a leg lamp shirt on, I knew I had the perfect background! Thanks Matt for being such a great model and backdrop! (photo #5680114)

Plunging headfirst into the New Year! I'm going to have to update this description because I never did get the artist and title of this sculpture, which is of a boy riding on the back of a dolphin on a big wave. There was a family taking pictures right next to the plaque and I gave up waiting before they were finished. Not a cloud in the sky over the ocean. It was so blue, it looked unreal.

The full moon is when I talk to the moon and discuss my future with it. I present my intentions and in turn, I hope that on such a powerful night, that The Universe will help me accomplish those goals. Sometimes that full moon sneaks up with me and I'm not ready! I just received this 2012 moon calendar in the mail today. It's green and it's letterpressed and I'm in love with it. (Photo # 5700281)

Toast! Cheers!
©2011 Kristin Corlett

Happy New Year!! A few hours before that clock struck midnight some friends and I gathered together with glasses of sparkling grape juice and toasted to the new year. We also gave thanks for those that were gathered together and those that couldn't be there. We said things about love and friendship, too. They were going on a bit too long so I suggested we have a sip and toast again!

I wish you all a Happy New Year! and I wish you only the best in the upcoming year.

I also have to say that this was my 365th day of my 365 photography project. I am so happy I can hardly stand it. I'd like to continue on, but the first 365 can never happen again and I did it!
