New Hampshire's unofficial state song used to be 'New Hampshire Naturally' by the Shaw Bros, a local folk duo. NH would have used it on their license plates, but the heavily libertarian natives are proud of the famous slogan which used to infuriate liberals, 'Live Free or Die'.

It's not much, but it's New Hampshire, and it's home. My stepmom and I were invited to some friends down the hill for tea and homemade lemon meringue pie. How could we refuse? My mom lives on the top of the mountain; the friends live further down, on a lake crossed by a beaver dam (which crosses this picture). There are ducks just returned from the south dodging the ice still on the lake. It was snowing fifteen minutes before I took this picture; then the cold front pushed the clouds away.
