Sitting under the Maple tree and I noticed a beautiful sky framed by the trees.
1
My little Willow after she asked me to pick one of the giant roses in the backyard. Afterwards she stuffed the rose into the ground and poured water on top. I hope she's not disappointed today when the rose is no longer a rose.
2
Today was Melbourne Cup Day - a State holiday for a horse race! I had a little extra time so I edited this photo of Willow on the trampoline. I slipped in a recent Hubble Space Telescope shot of the Orion Nebula as the background.
3
The dog really did eat my homework!
4
Back to the trees today. This was taken on a short bush walk the girls and I did behind the house. I loved the look of this old dead gum tree. It has a ethereal look about it from this angle.
5
Walked out of the house to go to the shops and noticed this rainbow dipping into our little valley. I could see the end of the rainbow ... not far from my house however, some bugger had already taken the pot o' gold!
6
Willow and I took a walk around the Mountain top today and the place was full of spring flowers. Here's one of my favs.
7
Willow, Juniper and I went to the park this afternoon. It was really hot and Willow decided to talk off her shoes and dip her toes into a little stream.
8
The tragic story of Dead Teddy ...
9
Behold, the jaws responsible for the carnage on November 4, 2009 - Indy the Groodle!
10
This is the elder daughter, Juniper, our Rock Chic.
11
An armoury for little Fairy Warriors?

“We may explore the universe and find ourselves, or we may explore ourselves and find the universe. It matters not which of these paths we choose.”
13
We live in an area classified as extreme danger for bushfires - on the ridge of a mountain surround by forest. Last year 175 neighbors perished on Black Saturday as a result of fires. We packed bags and made ready to evacuate 3 times last year. The past two weeks I have been preparing the house for this years fire season. These two photos were taken off my back balcony in Feb 2009.
14
It was a hot and sunny Sunday and Willow attacked me with the spray bottle.
15
This is Banjo. A few weeks ago we had a massive thunder storm. We have not seen Banjo since the storm. Every day as I pull into the drive, I hope I might see Banjo stretched out on the front door waiting for us to get home.
16
King Parrots & Crimson Rosellas are regular visitors to our house. Juniper loves birds and gets a big kick out of feeding them. Notice the female King Parrot on her head too! I took this photo about a mile down the road at a road side stop used by bus tour groups for feeding our native birds.
17
Today, I was definitely off track!

Puffing Billy railway running behind the house.
18
Here's the ol' Puffing Billy just after I took yesterday's shot. I love hearing the steam whistle each Saturday morning.
19
Fish ... here!
20
Man, has this been a helluva week. I don't think next week looks any better.

Took this one last night, about midnight, while playing with lighting from my desk lamp.

“I've learned that: goodbyes will always hurt, pictures can never replace being there, memories forget the hard times, words can never replace feelings, and heros often go unsung”
22
Rusty really loves sticks!

<p>'<i>Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry, merry king of the bush is he,
Laugh, Kookaburra, Laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be.</i>' Australian Children's Song.</p><p>The laugh of the kookaburra always reminds me of why living in Australia is so great. Let's not take life too seriously and have a good laugh every now and then!</p>
24
I just felt like today needed a little more red.
25
Willow loves the trampoline. Here, she's soaring!
26
Found this weird critter while cleaning up dead leaves around the house. Any idea what kind of spidy this is??
27
All of my family ice skate. My wife and oldest daughter regularly compete. Tonight my 5YO had was in her very first figure skating competition. She did great and was a true performer. She won second place and we were really proud of her. Here she's being congratulated by one of the older girls.
28
My shy 11 yo finally allowed me to take some photos of her. Today was a rainy day but we made the best of it.

<p><i>Everyone and everything that shows up in our life is a reflection of something that is happening inside of us.</i><p/><p>It's the end of the month and time for reflection before heading into the whirlwind time of Christmas holidays. Here's 14 shots from the past 14 days of the top of a dead tree. I took these from my balcony.</p>
