Today has been fun :). I put on my Harry Potter OotP audio book and knit up the first mitten of the pair. They are camera mittens! They have slit, as this photo shows, to free one finger to work the shutter.

I had to frog it 4 times before I got the cast on to look the way I wanted. But when I finally got it, I love it! It’s always great to learn a new technique.

I ended up modifying to the thumb join quite a bit. But I like the way that it turned out.

I’ll work on the second mitten while I’m on the way to my dietitian apt in Indy tomorrow. :). They knit up very easy and fast.

I’m only going to do the slit for the finger on the right hand, as I can do most of the work with that hand and keep the other one warm. I played with another set of mittens I have and just didn’t feel it was necessary to do the slit for the left hand too. If I regret this later, I have enough of this yarn I can work up another left mitten, as they don’t take much yarn and they are pretty quick.

Better photos to come when I’ve finished knitting them and I’m not so sleepy.

Now, Back to OotP! They are just about to have their first DA meeting :)….

IWU has a new Chapel building that they opened this semester. Wednesday was the dedication. The building is HUGE. It has more seats than the Kodak Theater. This photo is of our Dean of Chapel, Dr Jim Lo.

I really love it when I can find a way to knit for a class!!

For my design class we have to make a paper sculpture. I stressed and stressed over trying to come up with something to create.

Then I came up with a idea that lets me knit for a class! yay!

I'm making a paper sculpture of an in-progress scarf. :P.

I just think this is awesome. I took the strips of paper that you see there and made them into a ball of 'yarn' to knit up. then I'm gonna place the project on my fake paper needles :)

I finished my design project tonight. I turn it in for grading in the morning! I feel like it turned out well. Project is made entirely out of paper and glue. I wanted to give the needles points, but I couldn't find a way to do so without mangling the paper.
