This church is where our (secular) homeschool group meets twice a week. I took this with my Dreamy Diana lens.
1
water from snow melting on my roof dripping into a big black wheelbarrow by my door
2
It was a day of snapshots of people who probably don't want to be part of my 365, so here is another view of the church from two days ago (took this today -- our group meets twice a week).
3
This verdigris fence is in front of the teashop, Verdigris, in Hudson, NY. I usually stop there on Thursdays for a cup of tea while my girls are in chorus.
4
Matcha Green Tea Smoothie I made with matcha tea I bought yesterday at Verdigris, local milk, local honey, and ice. Yummy and a great pick-me-up.
5
This horse statue sits on my in-laws' grand piano at their home in New Jersey.
6
Bar stools at O's Eatery (diner) on the Taconic Parkway. Even though this isn't far from our house, we rarely stop here except for when we're on the way home from my in-laws' in NJ. Their decor is pretty cool, their food's usually pretty good. Their fries are handcut and exquisite.
7
Getting our taxes done is always a pleasure, because it means I get to visit my accountant's beautiful horses. This is Roan. He's a Norwegian Fjord.
8
Snowdrops! Spring is truly on its way!
9
up too late again...
10
Last season's hydrangea plant on a fence in Hudson, NY

This is my friend Gina's coleus plant, which she brought inside for the winter. Its leaves are practically plastered against the window, reaching for the sun.

I am NOT a Jonas Brothers fan. In fact, the reason I took this photo is that I think if I owned a music store, this lovely sarcastic OMG is exactly what I would put on the Jonas Brothers divider. This made me laugh.

I took this in Northampton, Massachusetts. Jason (my husband) & I met at UMass Amherst, so we know the area well. It was a good sort-of half-way point to meet up with my cousins from New Haven. It was raining, so all we did was wander through stores (I bought some 120 film for my new Holga!) and eat Tibetan food (yum! -- although I'm not sure about the butter tea).

In case you're interested, we walked out of the music store with CDs by the Clash & Macy Gray, and my kids chose stickers -- dancing bears (Grateful Dead) and God Save the Queen (Sex Pistols). See, the Jonas Brothers aren't our style, althouth I have to admit that Joe Jonas was kind of cute when I saw him guest judging on American Idol.

We hit an unexpected blizzard on the Mass Pike on the way home and saw a really scary accident.

I spent a chunk of my day experimenting with photographing wind (crazy wind today -- it blew a storm window right off our house!) and trying to get a decent self-portrait, but none of those photos wowed me. Experimenting's never bad though -- I'm sure I learned something.

J husband and I took a walk this afternoon and ended up in the Chatham Rural Cemetery. I've been here often but have never thought it was terribly photogenic. I guess I must never have been there when the light was good, because today it was gorgeous!

I just looked the cemetery up online and discovered it is where Virginia, of 'yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus' fame, is buried.

My 13-year-old's feet on our picnic table. I took this one for Flickr's Bench Monday group. I used my Flickr friend Sarah McVey's textures in processing this.
15
Taken with my Dreamy Diana lens(Diana F+ 'Super Wide' lens + adaptor). I added contrast and saturation, but the flare and sparkle are all lens.

Four days to spring! I started this one-a-day project on the Winter Solstice and told myself I just needed to make it through to the Vernal Equinox. My goal was to get through winter, which has always been a difficult season for me, in so many ways. I'm having too much fun to stop, but once again, I'll set a smaller goal to meet -- to the Summer Solstice.

Does anyone do anything special for the Spring Equinox? I want to do something to celebrate making it through the winter!

May the sun shine, all day long,/
everything go right, and nothing wrong./
May those you love bring love back to you,/
and may all the wishes you wish come true! . . .

Happy St. Patrick's Day! . . .
