Name:

Mary

Location:

Bushwick, Brooklyn!

Camera(s):

Point and shoot. Nothing too fancy. I have a snazzy little Nikon race-car-looking camera.

About Me:

I'm in a major period of change.

I'm pretty proud to have been one of the earliest shuttercal users. I started this project on May 16, 2007, and moved all my pictures from Fotki to this site as soon as I could get mach5 to set me up with an account. After a year on the site, I still couldn't get enough and started my side project, thewrittenword.
My favorite crazy leftist, playing ukulele
1
This morning the first blooms were out!
2
The Kirov is in town for 3 weeks, and I got tickets to all the programs! Tonight was All-Petipa.
3
Our homemade trophies for Foosapalooza. Who doesn't love this house?
4
Nick wants YOU!
5
DISAPPOINTMENT is making it to the matinee on time to realize that my ticket isn't in my bag, and missing Uliana Lopatkina dance The Dying Swan!!! Noooo! (see http://www.shuttercal.com/blog/2008/04/01/theme-3-has-arrived/)
6
Robert is in town so I took him to my favorite bars. Here we are at Doc Holiday's.
7
Back again
8
So we have cable now. And Wylie Dufresne was totally a guest judge on Top Chef. wd~50 is awesome!!
9
Defaultartist hosted a barbecue
10
I showed them one of my favorite movies, May, and I think it went over ok.
11
That's Nick shaking off a hangover. We walked from Park Slope to Coney Island on this day.
12
I totally overindulged on Saturday, so updating Shuttercal was pretty much the most interesting thing I did today
13
I didn't actually wait to the last minute to do my taxes, just to file them. Fortunately, it worked out ok.
14
This is my very depressing room, taken with my camera phone because I lost the charger to my real camera. I thought I was unhappy this day, but I was in for worse...
15
This night my job took us all to see the Kirov, then backstage, then out to dinner with the ballerinas in style. The tall redhead is Kondaurova, and she's amazing. Look her up on youtube.
16
My old friend is talking to my new friend at my favorite bar. This was a long crazy day followed by an awesome evening-- Mona's is my escape, for sure (see http://www.shuttercal.com/blog/2008/04/12/theme-4/)
17
8th Street is no longer the home of shoe stores...
18
This was another long day followed by a long night (my 4th in a row), but I got a glorious couple hours off in the sun. And I got these awesome cards from defaultartist... everyone be jealous!
19
We Sales Managers went to the semiswank Russian Samovar (co-owned by Baryshnikov) for the YAGP 'Reception Honoring the Judges.' Lots of vodka, fish, and potatoes.
20
The last night of YAGP craziness (gala time!) Russian ballerinas smoke these skinny flowery cigarettes called 'Vogue.'
21
Daylight! This is the first day in exactly 1 week that I have gotten home before 2AM (and gotten up for work the next day). I am so happy!
22
The bikram studio I go to is between a feminist bookstore and a vegan restaurant. It's pretty awesome.
23
I got a cold and had to go to Rite Aid for zinc drops. There I found the former Clueless costar on the cover of 'The Illest Men's Magazine Ever'
24
This pretty much sums up my day: chug orange juice and cough drops, get mailing out
25
Every woman living in a Western culture should read this book (and ideally, every man). I've been rereading it, and it's just brilliant.
26
The makings of another fabulous Wyckoff dinner party
27
Look who came home!
28
Of all things, we found a TICK in the office today. I got to kill him with fire!! He's a crispy tick now.
29
I made this at work from Farmer's Market purchases. Mmmm.
