January 1

Stockholm on New Year's day is a ghost town. Only tourists, hustlers and I dared to brave the cold streets, with nary an open establishment in sight.
Happy New Year!
Taken about 1am.

Kail celebrated his 3rd birthday with a character dinner at Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland Hotel. He was so amazed at seeing Pluto, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Chip and Dale of Chipmunks, Princess and Prince. The staff sang him a happy birthday with a candle on a cupcake which he blew out by himself! He also was given a badge at Disneyland announcing his birthday.
I went to Missy's today and hung out with her and mom. We ate lunch at Lettuce Souprise You of course.
Cheering jumps are so cool.

Susan had beautiful ribbon tied to the tops of her chairs in front of the bar granite counter. There were simple leaf and berry ornaments behind it. I love the tecture of the ribbons in this picture.

In August Kanen and I were both in our friend's, Ben and Crystal, wedding in Atlanta. We actually introduced them in college. The band was amazing and Kanen and I danced our butts off. We both took our skills up on stage. What a fun weekend and fabulous wedding!
My daughter went back to school this day after a 2 week vacation, so I got a photo of her pansy. Was beat up by the wind!
Not a great picture, but this is the time I leave my house to go to Y in the morning. I am working on my new years resolution.

I signed up with hospice and am so relieved. The stress is gone, the pain will be taken care of and some one will come and check on me and help with the little chores that are so hard for me - LIFE IS GOOD! :-)

My wedding rings...I love them, but I don't wear them at home and I work at home therefore I'm always here and I rarely wear them anymore. I miss wearing them...I think I'll just have to start wearing them at home too...just not while cleaning or around the dogs and such.

sisterly love. i just couldn't pass up a photo of the lovely mary-zoe sandwich.
Bill takes Joe swimming in a pond behind the house and then before he gets to come back in the house he has to have a bath (and then dry off a bit)!
So I got through the entire day without taking a single picture today. We were doing a lot of boring stuff (cleaning, laundry, errands) and I just didn't think to get out the camera (though I do want to document those everyday things too). So after dinner and showers I grabbed one of my kiddos to snap a few pictures. I specifically chose Connor because he is the one who is photographed least around here. We got some serious shots and some goofy shots but I really liked this one {even though his glasses are dirty}, he looks so much older to me than his 11 years here! And OH that shaggy long hair! He definitely has a mind of his own when it comes to style!

January 12

I finished my iPhone version of charlieis.com early this morning. It's really cool what you're able to do when developing a site customized for an iPhone. Depending on how you rotate your phone, my website will show you different content. So check it out if you have an iPhone handy. Just go to charlieis.com on the phone.
My sister's horse that she loves so much =) He's pretty cute.
Glenn engrossed with his new tv, and Minnie patiently waiting for some attention.
Part of my book collection.
Windy beach. Hutchinson Island.
St Albans ( Verulamium ) as it is today.
One week before the RNC my daughter took me around town to shoot a few pictures, we had a blast, in just a few short hours she took me to the stone arch bridge, then over to shoot the last seven foot span of the new 35W going in, from there we saw lightning towards St Paul, so we quickly drove over to the capitol hoping to get a lightning shot with the capitol or cathedral in it. The storm went some place else and we took a few pictures from in front of the cathedral and met another photographer with a model, that was fun, then we went to the back side of the capitol to try and get the rising moon in the picture. I photo shopped my daughter and her car, Security did stop us and check us out, that was ok,then as we left we noticed a black sedan had been watching us from a rather close distance. We figured a man in black. Hard to believe we ended up being the subjects of our own shoot!

January 13

DVD's fresh from Blockbuster.
Cleaned the scrapspace, but I am not there so often!

'My photos won some awards today...' Day 14 of 365. I accepted on their behalf! These will go forward to compete Army-wide next month! I also had six honorable mentions! Cool!
I got home from work and I missed 11:11, darnit. (Yes, I'm still in my Staples uniform -.-)
Had an interview today at a studio where a ton of food shooting is done. So, here's a drink-shot of my own.

Two of these were hanging outside a butcher's shop.
Today was awesome. I set the date for my dissertation defense, got an awesome room reserved in the Rotunda at UVA, went on a very cool walk with Dan, then went out to dinner at my favorite pizza place. Awesome day. Pretty cool pic for an iPhone.
The plushies from Gildawen arrived today! I am so excited and they are so cute. I have to admit, though, that the fortune cookie one sits by my computer instead of where it is in the picture.

169 - <b>New TV</b><br><i>Warren, RI</i><br><br>
Since I'm probably not going to be able to get to the NY/NJ Metallica shows in a couple weeks, I decided I'd use the Christmas money I'd been saving for them to get us a small TV to have in the bedroom.
Met some internet friends while I was in DC. At the movie, they had a preview for UP, a new pixar film coming out, in a viewfinder thing.

January 20

I'll say this: he's got a lot of work. And a lot of promises to ful-fill.
A new President, it snowed (which NEVER happens in Memphis!) AND I got to hang out with my Lil Sis all day! Awesome day! :)
Watching the coverage of President Obama's speech.
Brandon's pinewood derby car.
Out with the old and in with the new...
Watching history in the making! She wanted to know if Obama would be her friend:)

When big sister came home in a mood complaining that the day was wasted at school because she had to 'watch Obama come and go all day', her sister chimed in...'It was because it was a very special day today, Skye.'

Today a lower and later perspective. The building on the left is the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). A storm is brewing!
I was reminded today that I'm starting to get old. lol I don't mind the number each year. Which this year I turn 30. And yes I can already hear those comments of 'You're just a baby.' But I don't like that my body is saying I'm aging. I've had a few white hairs since I was 20. But now they are everywhere. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start doing something about it. Plus, white hairs against my other dark hair doesn't give me much room to blend them in.
Smokestacks at the Tampa Electric Company (TECO) Power Plant. The white stacks are called scrubbers which clean the emmissions. The white smoke is actually water vapor. It still looks like pollution to me!

nothing very exciting today. Vern and I worked on putting the kits together all day at work and I WAS going to take a picture, but I forgot. So instead you get this. I've been on E for about 3 days, lol. So I finally went and got gas tonight. This is my favorite gas station. They're almost ALWAYS lower than everyone else around me and I really like that it's a small station. Makes me feel like I'm helping a small business owner by making my gasoline purchases there. Plus... the logo is cool! ;)
Happy Puppy waiting for his kids to get home.
Went to Nanna's.
Another Snowboarding night....got this one before we headed out to the slopes.
Another gear wheel for my Orrery kit. Thought I'd experiment with reflections. Guess which camera I took it with.

this will be filed under 'formal wear' in sinon's portfolio.
I forgot to take a picture till I realized that I took a photo of a scrapbook layout I just finished. This layout was started over 6 months ago and I hated how it was looking especially considering how much I loved that photo. So some inspiration struck and I ripped the other to shreds.
My first block is done!
It was such a beautiful morning. On the drive to work, I couldn't help but pull out the camera and take a pic of the beautiful sunrise.

postcard

Q- How much text can these postcards hold?
A- 500 characters. That's about 3 average size paragraphs.

Q- I noticed I can write more than the actual area on the card, how does that work?
A- The text area on your screen is slightly different then the print area of the actual card. Don't worry, your
message will fit on the card completely intact.

Q- Will the card include a link to my original photo?
A- Yes. Take a look in the lower right corner of the card. A link to your calendar and the image you are sending will be included there.

Q- How comparable are ShutterCal postcards to the look and feel of traditional postcards?
A- Honestly, ShutterCal postcards are superior to the average card you'd find in a store. They are printed on thick premium paper with top quality inks. They also have a beautiful glossy finish that makes the image pop while adding a extra layer of protection to the photo.

Noteable Notes:
Postcards go through the riggers of postal system!
These are high quality images passing through the crazy mail sorting machines of the world. Your cards are going to look great, but keep in mind that they are going to get stamped, postmarked, and handled. It all adds to the characteristics that make postcards great!

Postcards have unpredictable delivery times:
We did some tests and are amazed by the results! You could see your postcards reaching their destinations within 3 days! Other times your cards can take 2+ weeks to arrive ...postcards are just crazy like that.

Postcards are fun, but customized postcards are amazing!:
Your photography changes everything! It's always been neat to send or receive a postcard, but your photo instead of a default stock image is going to add an impressive amount of fun.
