April 1

This was the first sign that tempers were beginning to fray
A Barnyard Moosical.
Paisley relaxin' on her favourite rocking chair. C:
The Real Charles Atlas!
Every artist needs a muse, such lips and eyes to pierce the haze. Shattering society's fragile taboos, with only the simplest gaze.

April 2

Apparently since I'm female, and ALL females love to shop...I have to wear the shopping bag sticker on my face. Yup. Also? I'd say I'm making a pretty good Jim Halpert face.
How to cook dinner in relative peace... for about 5 minutes.
My best friends from grade school arrived...one was expected, the other was a complete surprise to me!
In a meeting, watching my coworker write on a wall. I love our meeting rooms.
Marigold
Every night at bed Tres always seems to end up in Gracie's bed. He just loves sleeping with her and Gracie refers to him as her 'buddy'. He is such a great cat. Mike named him Tres because he only has three legs. When he was a kittle he broke his leg and it had to be amputated. He gets along fine with just three legs. We just love him!

April 3

A flower at the farm store...
My friend got a puppy! THE CUTEST PUPPY EVER!!
Ed from Cowboy Bebop. Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (MTAC)
ya know... looking back at the pictures I've posted of Elmer in the last few months, one might think he does nothing but lay around and sleep all day and night! guess I'd better try to get some action shots of him and Oliver playing next time! ;)

Today was a pretty productive day! I woke up earlier than I usually do, did the dishes, went grocery shopping, cleaned up the house a little bit and did some laundry! :)
Now this is the real country, going on a hay ride and cows in the background fighting!

My niece showing me a pinecone at Yorktown Beach, in Yorktown VA.
So I know at least one person is going to be very happy about this picture-of-the-day. I stole an old idea from Chris as my inspiration for this.

This was an attempt to take a picture of the salt marsh at high tide when I got home last night. Didn't work out so well... I'll try again this weekend when high tide hits during the day.

It's always nice to have lunch or dinner at the Redfish Grille in the French Qtr. when in New Orleans. The interior is decorated so creatively.
In Beale Park with the family.
Cutest thing EVER. I love Meerkets. And the SLR wasn't working the whole time we were there because of the light and try having a sleep deprived Vikki going on in your ear about the Turkey and their invisiblity cloak.
So many potato bugs came out of our grass yesterday... it must have been from the rain during the night.

Behold my lightwave mohawk brain
A full rainbow, too large to be photographed with my lens. It followed a very rare hailstorm. Some strange spring weather for us.

April 15

I've never really been one for flowers, but since living away from family and trying to deal with things without their immediate support, I've found that it's the little things that can get you through a rough day. So sometimes I buy myself flowers because the bright colours cheer me up.

The impact of a pair of shoes has on a child can be life-changing. Raising awareness today. Going barefoot!

The Facts:
* Fact #1: In some developing nations, children must walk for miles to food, clean water and to seek medical help.
* Fact #2: Cuts and sores on feet can lead to serious infection.
* Fact #3: Often, children cannot attend school barefoot.
* Fact #4: In Ethiopia, approximately one million people are suffering from Podoconiosis, a debilitating and disfiguring disease caused by walking barefoot in volcanic soil.
* Fact #5: Podoconiosis is 100% preventable by wearing shoes.

Get yourself some TOMS... cool shoes for you, and a pair for someone somewhere who probably needs them more than you do!

Well.
Nikki, Rich, and I went to Digital Khaos to play board games cause we're awesome like that. We played Zombie Fluxx, and Last Night on Earth (more zombies), and then watched the Cube trilogy. NEVER AGAIN OH GOD THEY'RE AWFUL.
Day 29 of 365

TWO crazy things happened today.
One- I bought the first CD I've bought in almost two years. (Sara Bareilles)
Two- I got a spontaneous bloody nose. That NEVER happens!
So that's one year with shuttercal today. I can't believe how quickly it's gone. I know it's a cliche, but time really does fly. But thanks to shuttercal, I have realised exactly how much I have fitted into that year, the things I have achieved, and how my photography has improved. Looking through all my images earlier on today, the year now suddenly doesn't seem like it's gone so quick. And I think that's the biggest bonus I've got out of being a part of this site. Apart from meeting loads of cool, like-minded people and looking at some lovely photography, the memories that may have been forgotten with time, are recorded here for me to reflect on. And that's very cool, so thank you Amperes, Default Artist and Mach5 for developing this idea. You've done such a great job. cheers. Tom
My brother is either a member of the Blue Man Group or one awesome Guitar Hero player.
We had a pleasant day shopping and went to Bill and Susan's for a night with friends. An evening walk procured this picture.

I could have chosen any number of beautiful tulip shots, or some of the fun things we did at the principals' conference (yes, we did have fun!), but somehow, this pair of abandoned cars captured my heart. What a unique way to grow blackberries...
I had some friends over today and we started working on this puzzle of New York City. Now to finish it up.

Aquarena Springs Earth Day festival hosted by the geographers of Texas State.
You caught me. I'm Batman.
I put some pictures up in my room, like this one. It's just a random picture I bought, but it reminds me of New Zealand.
Ryan has been having some rough days lately, crying a lot and just not in a good place. After a long, long Saturday of nothing making him happy, it was a relief when bedtime came around! This is what I found when I went in to check on him before I went to sleep. He has always slept on his belly with his knees tucked up under him. If I slept like that, I may not be able to move the next day :)

April 26

We moved Missy out of her apartment and into mine today. She had a lot more stuff than her and Mom tried to make it out to be.
Baby bikinis are ADORABLE!

I think the problem with my generation is we spend way too much time on the internet, and not enough time with face-to-face interaction. ...Okay, so it's MY problem, at any rate.

postcard

Q- How much text can these postcards hold?
A- 500 characters. That's about 3 average size paragraphs.

Q- I noticed I can write more than the actual area on the card, how does that work?
A- The text area on your screen is slightly different then the print area of the actual card. Don't worry, your
message will fit on the card completely intact.

Q- Will the card include a link to my original photo?
A- Yes. Take a look in the lower right corner of the card. A link to your calendar and the image you are sending will be included there.

Q- How comparable are ShutterCal postcards to the look and feel of traditional postcards?
A- Honestly, ShutterCal postcards are superior to the average card you'd find in a store. They are printed on thick premium paper with top quality inks. They also have a beautiful glossy finish that makes the image pop while adding a extra layer of protection to the photo.

Noteable Notes:
Postcards go through the riggers of postal system!
These are high quality images passing through the crazy mail sorting machines of the world. Your cards are going to look great, but keep in mind that they are going to get stamped, postmarked, and handled. It all adds to the characteristics that make postcards great!

Postcards have unpredictable delivery times:
We did some tests and are amazed by the results! You could see your postcards reaching their destinations within 3 days! Other times your cards can take 2+ weeks to arrive ...postcards are just crazy like that.

Postcards are fun, but customized postcards are amazing!:
Your photography changes everything! It's always been neat to send or receive a postcard, but your photo instead of a default stock image is going to add an impressive amount of fun.
