Cutest nail polish ever..
The Huckleberry Railroad was so named because it ran so slow; a person could jump off the train, pick huckleberries and jump back on the train with minimum effort.

The Huckleberry Railroad began its history in 1857 as part of the Flint Pere Marquette Railroad Company. The Flint Pere Marquette Railroad Company was organized on June 22, 1857. The branch of the Pere Marquette from Flint to Otter Lake (15 miles) was constructed under the Flint River Railroad Charter and opened in 1872. It was later known as the Otter Lake Branch. Eventually the track was extended to another 4.5 miles from Otter Lake to Fostoria, for a total of 19.5 miles from Flint to Fostoria.

Pere Marquette was absorbed by the C&O (Chesapeake and Ohio) Railroad. The C&O merged and other railroad lines merged with the B&O to become the Chessie System. The Chessie System is now CSX.

These will make the penny's dance in the change holder.
This morning my mother in law and I decided the kids NEEDED to get out of the house, and frankly so did we. So, we made a drive down to Kansas City and went to Kaleidoscope. The kids absolutely love it there, so it was a fun time had by all!
My Aunt Nikki and my Mom, hanging out together. Two of my favorite people! Yes, my Mom is the one wearing the weird snow flake headband.
now that's a packed car.
Today and tomorrow I'll be working a dance show for a dance company in town, so I won't have much chance to take photos. Here's another shot from the graduation party last Saturday, though. Wayne is a great guy and he says he used to do this all the time with his band, but it gave him such a headache that he had to lay off it. He did it for his niece, though, because she gets a giggle. Jennie and I wondered why they would make a conference of senior citizens stand? Surely they're the most likely candidates for People You Should Give Chairs To..
Dinner was very, very good. :D Also, it's Ni's birthday. Happy birthday Ni!

It's Raining! This is the storm brewing over our house.
If you reserve Prototype at Gamestop you'll get one of these badass Alex Mercer action figures. Looks pretty good for a giveaway! I've yet to free mine from it's package.
My throat feels like sandpaper. I don't think I drank as much in an hour as I do usually all day.
<br>Lesson on the day: I really need to start writing down my lessons; when it comes to updating my shuttercal a week or so later, my non-existant memory has erased it.

June 8

I brought home some football banks for my girls. They handed them out at work and one of my coworkers gave me his bank so I would have one for each girl. They loved them and already put some money in them. I sure hope that they are good about saving money unlike their Mom and Dad!! :-)
One of my olives from my tree. I am a very proud daddy.
Last summer I would get up every morning and go walking around my neighborhood. I decided it would be fun to start that up again.
Tanning lotion fail.
Today I have my choice of a gallbladder issue, or an ulcer. Went to the doctors, came home with meds, back on Tuesday for more testing to try to figure out exactly what is wrong. It's been a very painful month.
Mom, why is my bowl in the toilet? Because Jack threw in there Jake...

Wedderburn Scales, founded in 1896, is moving to the sticks (well, an outer suburb of Sydney). Wonder what will happen to this iconic landmark?

A tool of both good and bad
Stop and smell the flowers...
Convict Lake, CA. This lake was named after the group of men who escaped from a prison in Carson City and who were shot and killed by local law enforcement. The Mt. Morrison in the background is named after the sheriff who died in the gun fight, in the year 1871. Incidently, Ray proposed at this lake. It is so beautiful.

Nothing better than listening to some Metallica early in the morning!
Re-reading Fairy tales!
I didn't have a picture for today, so I quickly drew one. Today was lame. I got out of work early, took a shower, got dressed up (in a skirt!!) did some dishes, and then ended up knocking over a huge cup of milk and then slipping and falling in it. So had to do even more dishes, because the milk managed to fill up an entire drawer on its way from the counter to the floor. <br /><br />So here is a picture of me laying in a puddle of milk with the cat laughing at me.<br /><br />However, when Nooth got home he took me to VPB for dinner and I felt better. YAY
Sleeping. As usual.

June 13

what a wonderful day! it was everything i ever dreamed of!
Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach
Nemo has a thing about this clothes drying rack. He has to climb on it every time he sees it (3 times today!), even though it looks uncomfortable and he falls through it half the time and can't get himself down.
Karen and me
The Oaks @ San Juan Capistrano
Cleaned a lot around the house today. My brother left for a football camp in Pittsburgh today; I'm jealous, merely because I think it'd be fun to go wander around Pittsburgh. And as you can see, I'm still refusing to sleep in my room. To add to this long-winded ramble of mine, I'm watching 'The Princess Bride'. I love this movie!
Not the greatest shot, zoomed to the max from my deck with a point and shoot.

June 14

My niece is big like 5!
The view from our hotel in Tunica, MS. It was pretty, it was hot and the mosquitos were the size of small dogs.

PMS wraps me up in knots some months.
That's why I'm easy ... ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh, I'm easy like Sunday morning.
Day 164 June 14, 2009 He may look cute, but he sure is crazy

This little guy has gotten in lots of trouble lately, he's been found sleeping on everyone's bed, on furniture he shouldn't be on. Yesterday he decided to read the Sisterhood of traveling pants. At least he's well read!

Just a few of Eva's Amazing Animals. I liked how the colors were working for me in this show. More at <a href='http://www.benspark.com/in-the-jungle.html' rel='nofollow'>www.benspark.com/in-the-jungle.html</a>

Credit for this photo goes to my friend Trish. It captures perfectly how today felt.

June 18

For about a year now she has slept upsidedown in the bed. She used to start out at the top and flip in the middle of the night. Now we don't even fight it. She sleeps on top of the covers upside down. That's just her. :-)
This is a layout that I finished today. I only have about a month's worth of photos to complete Natalie's first year. I probably will never get caught up, but as long as I enjoy it I will keep truckin' along.
Our trip to McLaren 01.07.08
I was at a West End concert thing tonight and when I went into the toilet I saw this sitting on the window sill. I didn't take it because I felt like all I needed from it was a picture, and having the book itself would mean more to someone else.
Hillwood Gardens, Washington DC
Hindu temple, very beautiful place. #3

I decorated our guest 'suite' to celebrate the engagement of our friends who came to visit over the weekend. (photo taken by my friend)

Laura, Jennie and I having a typically random, geeky and crazy night. Taken on the steps of the Apollo Victoria after Kerry Ellis's first performance of her Great British Songbook concerts, which was actually nowhere near Victoria, but somehow we gravitate back there.
Goughs Bay on Lake Eildon in Victoria Australia. A classic example of climate change. This lake used to be full 10 years ago. Now there is only a drop left.
Our place for the week!

Happy Father's Day.. I mowed the yard. Oh wait I do that anyway. Love my hubby for the wonderful Daddy he is and will always consider MY Dad he best a girl could ever wish for.

I moved the computer away from little fingers today. My life will be easier, why didn't I do this years ago?

June 22

My trellis has something growing on it for the first time ever this year.
The inflatable pavilion was up on Friday night. For some reason I thought it might have something to do with Apple (not sure why, since they have a very glamorous store in a better location). Turned out today that it was the doing of one of the local mobile phone companies.
Attractive!

Petting a bunny at the family picnic
Opened the present from my mom--got my favorite clear binders I use for scrapbooking and it's a tradition that I always get underwear on my birthday. :-) The kids made me a birthday cake and I had my favorite Chinese food for dinner. Later when Larry got home I got a Garmin. I cant wait to try it out.

June 25

Summery citrus candles...mmm.
I'm on pins and needles lately waiting for exciting things to happen. And obviously, the nails are from hanging photos.
All of these were taken from behind the kitchen window.. so thatz why they are kind of blurry.. the top left one is of a daddy cardinal feeding a baby that can't figure out how to get on the feeder.. the top right and bottom left are of the gold finch on the thistle sock feeder.. and the bottom right is of all of the feeders you can see from the window :) the finches just love the sock feeder.. and have completely drained it in two weeks :) sometimes you could see five birds on it!!

Reading. I don't do enough of it.
Resident Evil will never die. And thus my pocketbook will never flourish. (Actually to be fair, I checked this out from work--haven't actually purchased it. Yet.)

June 27

The view from the house down to the lake (i took this one)
tonight I was positively over the moon to have another chance to see these five FANTASTIC men perform (GAWD THEY ARE HOT)!! :) My sister and I made the 5 hour drive to Cincinnati to do the VIP thing. Meet & Greet where we were able to say hey and hug on 5 very HOT, sweaty guys ;) and have our picture taken with them (though last year we were able to actually chat with the guys for a while and get autographs as well... sadly, we weren't able to do that this year). If I was upset about the shorter meet/greet time I was over it when I saw what UNBELIEVABLE seats we had... 4th row IN THE PIT! It was the most AMAZING concert ever!!! Unfortunately, before the show both mine and my sister's cameras were confiscated for supposedly breaking some camera rule, even though I read my VIP paperwork and MEASURED MY LENS before I left the house to make SURE it wasn't too long. :( Long story short, we argued and complained (ok... my sister argued and complained while I just cried) to a number of people which got us exactly nowhere! So we sat through this ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunity without a single photo to show for it!! I was completely heartbroken! :( Thankfully a few AWESOME women seated in our row have offered to share their pictures with us. So even though we didn't take the photos ourselves, we'll still have some pictures to remember the experience. :) Seriously... I will NEVER forget this and I am crossing ALL my fingers and toes that they tour again next year! I'm not ready for this ride to end yet! ;) I will be posting a handful of my favorite pictures (from both tonight's concert and the one in Detroit on Thursday night) for the next week because frankly, I just want to relive every minute for as long as I possibly can. ;) This photo of Jordan Knight makes me completely weak in the knees!! Oh how I LOVE those dimples of his!!! and his voice. mmmmm That is one SERIOUSLY sexy man!!
my nanny Joan passed away today, i took this picture from my sisters shuttercal as its a loverly pic of my nan cuddled up with me sister's datsy's

I love the way my laundry fills with light in the winter.
Went to Bornholm wth my parents and my aunt. It's a Danish island pretty far away from the rest of the country. We drove to Sweden and caught a ferry from there. Sweden is weird.
Amazing dragon head on a craft stall at The Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh

June 28

sun day.
The compressor in our A/C unit broke... in an Arizona summer, that is not good. So this was our apartment complex's temporary solution. It's ugly... it's noisy... and it's only really cooling the living room. But at least it's not 91 degrees in our apartment.
Forbidden Broadway at the Menier Chocolate Factory with Jennie and Cat. One of the few things that weekend which did actually go to plan!
jone's green apple soda, fun stuff.
Standing in the Handwash Foothills, I set my sights on Towel Mountain...

Foot or food.....
Day 101 of 365 <br /><br /> Rowan accidentally pulled my camera off the bed, and the impact is bad enough that the Camera Center couldn't do anything. I have to send it in to Olympus. So... I'm using a Kodak Easy Share and finding NEW appreciation and GRATEFULLNESS for my camera!

In the botanic gardens.

June 30

Just washed my car.
The old nest has 4 new eggs in it! I was sad to see that the other robins had left, but I'm pretty happy to see that there are new eggs!
Day 181 of Project 365 = work, counter-offer on a house, vegging with Gridge...
One of my parent's cats, Sachi. She's kind of a diva bitch... and she drools when she purrs, but she has gorgeous fur. And she knows it.

postcard

Q- How much text can these postcards hold?
A- 500 characters. That's about 3 average size paragraphs.

Q- I noticed I can write more than the actual area on the card, how does that work?
A- The text area on your screen is slightly different then the print area of the actual card. Don't worry, your
message will fit on the card completely intact.

Q- Will the card include a link to my original photo?
A- Yes. Take a look in the lower right corner of the card. A link to your calendar and the image you are sending will be included there.

Q- How comparable are ShutterCal postcards to the look and feel of traditional postcards?
A- Honestly, ShutterCal postcards are superior to the average card you'd find in a store. They are printed on thick premium paper with top quality inks. They also have a beautiful glossy finish that makes the image pop while adding a extra layer of protection to the photo.

Noteable Notes:
Postcards go through the riggers of postal system!
These are high quality images passing through the crazy mail sorting machines of the world. Your cards are going to look great, but keep in mind that they are going to get stamped, postmarked, and handled. It all adds to the characteristics that make postcards great!

Postcards have unpredictable delivery times:
We did some tests and are amazed by the results! You could see your postcards reaching their destinations within 3 days! Other times your cards can take 2+ weeks to arrive ...postcards are just crazy like that.

Postcards are fun, but customized postcards are amazing!:
Your photography changes everything! It's always been neat to send or receive a postcard, but your photo instead of a default stock image is going to add an impressive amount of fun.
