Important tip for using a completely manual camera? Always remember to wind the film! Otherwise you'll wind up with an exposure of your cat and the playground equipment directly across from your house.

The up side is that it turned out kind of cool looking anyway.
From a photo shoot I did yesterday for a CD.
Yet again experimenting with my Diana F+, this time with the neon sign outside the High Dive bar in Fremont.

My Christmas gift from Mom - a Diana F+ camera from Lomography. Completely analog, totally manual, only a handful of basic settings like aperture and a plastic lens.

Who needs digital, anyway!

(Of course upon reflection, I probably shouldn't have done the flash RIGHT into the mirror like this. Ah well - I expect there'll be a learning curve here.)
Me and Mom out for a traditional Christmas dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant.
I have been out in the yard each afternoon, checking on the status of plant growth and how things look after the long winter. Today I found these cast iron pans leaning against the cement barrier near the barn. Judging by the amount of rust, I suspect they've been out there all winter long.
The last big snow bank in the yard. I'm hoping it's all melted by next week!
Toronto
Whoops - forgot to upload this shot of the mad crazy decorations throughout the Olympic Manor cul-de-sac, up on 85th.
Actually it's a extra-dimensional entity from Cardiff that came through a time/space rift, but that's close enough for the Ghostbusters.
The Temporary Cat getting to know the new neighbors. . . .
Last year I found a vine of 4 leaf clovers !!!!
The first crocus has sprung up in the yard!
At a seminar about social media!
Yesterday was Pi day, and Corey bought a pie to bring to school. He forgot the pie at home, and Neal and the kids ate half of it for dessert.
After a long week of rehearsals and 4 performances of the show.. Ashley spent a good amount of time watching tv/dozing off in the chair today.
Lets see - burn rust colored chair, lava lamps, wood paneling, two funky lamps and a bean bag chair. Is this 2009 or 1969?
Seehaus biergarten in the English Gardens. The first hint of sunshine and the crowds come out. Spring is definitely on the way.
As we're moving in, my new neighbor was throwing out this cool (yet amazingly ugly) retro-ish looking lamp. She offered it to us instead - and of course I instantly snapped it up. It's the perfect counterpoint to my red green and blue lamp at the other end of the room!
God of War III and the space where my PS3 should be.
Learned about the sport of curling today.
Still feeling a little trashed-Belinda helped.
Another again another take on the Christmas lights down at Westlake Center, with the Merry-Go-Round spinning in the background.
The cutest Bryn.
Running around-loosing my wallet-looking for the end of the rainbow. Not to be found today.
I convinced it to model by offering a piece of lettuce, but it would not cooperate and stay still.
"Dude, I thought you said you were going to the store?"

"I DID go to the store!"

If you've never been..they have barrels of peanuts open for you to take from while you wait for your burger to be cooked.

New Life
It's moving day! And all my worldly possessions have been reduced to a pile of boxes from the liquor store. . . .
3.18.10
they were playing a video game
and screaming, really loud
it was night
they took a walk
down moonlit avenues
they could hear people singing from afar
they lit up cigarettes, and re-enacted a scene
from a film about things one can never attain
and the promises a man can never keep
in this film, a man would speak to a woman
outside his apartment
and light up cigarettes
with her
and she would fall into the most difficult trap to fall into
because she had an undying love for the man
the film was a comedy
but it was never made
therein lay its appeal
the cinematography was beautiful, in the minds of those
who pictured it that way
the acting was excellent, in the minds of those
who had faith
the director of the film
was old, very old
and needed medical assistance just to breathe
and if the person imagining all this had a good heart
the director would survive long enough
to make it to opening day
and die at the end credits
perfectly at peace
they went back to their apartment
and played video games
they screamed, really loud
and soon, they would fall asleep
and they would dream
about the film
the film that was never made
and the walk
down moonlit avenues
further and further
away from the known
